Hose Repair Service Department
This newly formed department is designated solely to hose repairs and hose re-certifications. As our customers continue to see value in the repairing of slightly used hose and the safety aspect of evaluating and re-certifying hose, we have established this department in order to offer the level of service that you expect from SPIR STAR®.
To provide our customers with the best service possible, we ask that you follow our Hose Repair Policies and Procedures, as outlined below and available for download in PDF format.
Hose Repair Policies and Procedures
Only hoses manufactured by SPIR STAR® will be evaluated and/or repaired. In order to save you time and freight costs, hoses assemblies manufactured by any company other than SPIR STAR® should not be returned for repair and/or evaluation. If you are not certain of the hose manufacturer of a hose assembly in your possession, please call one of our sales representatives, and we will be happy to assist you in determining the manufacturer.
Before any hose is returned to SPIR STAR® for repair evaluation an RGA (Returned Goods Authorization) number must be obtained from the Hose Repair Service Department. The RGA number must be clearly visible on the packaging in which the hose(s) are returned. In addition, information including full contact details of the shipper and instructions regarding the work to be performed must be included with the shipment. Hose repairs received without this information will be returned to the shipper.
Due to safety and environmental reasons returned hoses must be free of any media. Returned hoses found to have media present will be returned to the shipper.
Once hoses are received by SPIR STAR® for evaluation, you will be contacted within two (2) weeks by the Hose Repair Service Department with the details of the evaluation and a price quote to perform any necessary work. Once you have been contacted with this information you must inform the Hose Repair Service Department within thirty (30) working days if you wish to proceed with the work quoted. If we have not received a response within this time period the hose will be disposed of.
