Entrepreneurship – Episode 4 of our documentary series “Odenwald in Transition” is now online!

Sustainability is far more than just a trend – it’s a key challenge for the future that affects politics, society, and the economy alike.
Companies have numerous opportunities to actively contribute to environmental protection and lead the way by setting a good example.

In the fourth episode, titled “Entrepreneurship,” we explore how business and sustainability can go hand in hand.

Two inspiring companies from the region are featured:

• Lokay Print Shop demonstrates impressively that sustainable business practices are also achievable in traditional industries. As a company certified under the EMAS environmental management standard, Lokay embraces sustainability not as an add-on, but as a core company value. Their commitment has been recognized with multiple awards.
• SPIR STAR AG is a globally active manufacturer of thermoplastic ultra high-pressure hoses (up to 4,000 bar). The company has transformed its site into a near-natural landscape, creating valuable habitats for local flora and fauna – and has received several awards for its environmental efforts.

This episode sends a clear message: Sustainable entrepreneurship is not a contradiction – it’s a genuine opportunity for the future.
